Who we are

Snug Gallery is a Shopify app operated by Beacon Wave Studio (“we”). This policy explains what information the app handles when a merchant installs it on a Shopify store and when shoppers visit a storefront that uses it.

Information we store

Store data. When you install the app we store your store's myshopify domain and the Shopify access token the app needs to work, together with your current subscription plan. We do not store customer, order or payment data.

Gallery content. Galleries, captions, links, tags, product pins and layout settings are saved as metaobjects in your own Shopify store. Images and videos are uploaded to your store's Files and served from Shopify's CDN. This content belongs to you and stays in your store; our servers only read and write it while you edit a gallery.

Customer photo submissions. If you enable customer submissions, photos, the optional name and caption a shopper enters, and the submission time are stored as metaobjects in your store for you to approve or reject. To limit abuse we keep a salted hash of the submitting IP address for a short rolling window; the raw address is never stored.

Server logs. Our servers keep standard request logs (timestamps, paths, response codes) for up to 30 days to diagnose problems.

Information we do not collect

The storefront gallery is rendered by Shopify from your theme. It does not load scripts from our servers, set cookies, or send analytics or shopper data to us.

How we use it

Only to provide the app: authenticating with Shopify, saving your galleries, enforcing plan limits, moderating submissions and responding to support requests. We do not sell or share data with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising.

Where it lives

Gallery content and media stay in Shopify. Our own database (store domain, access token, plan and rate-limit hashes) runs on servers hosted by Hetzner.

Retention and deletion

When you uninstall the app we delete the access token and store record immediately and honour Shopify's data-erasure webhooks. Gallery metaobjects and uploaded files remain in your store so that nothing disappears from your Files without your action; you can delete them from your Shopify admin at any time.

Your rights

You can ask us to export or erase any information we hold about your store by emailing hello@beaconwavestudio.com. Shoppers should contact the store they submitted content to.
